Domi Station’s Incubation Scholarship Program applications are now open for our upcoming cohort starting in January of 2024. Are you looking to start or grow your business in the New Year, but you're feeling overwhelmed in doing so? We understand the pain points of entrepreneurs and we are here to help. Our incubation participants have access to a tailored curriculum, a community of like-minded entrepreneurs, a network of over 75+ mentors, and more than 10 entrepreneurial resources. Gear Up Lab: Company Formation with Curt Bender

As part of our 6-month incubation program, this month our participants are focusing on the legal challenges that entrepreneurs and small business potentially face. This week we are discussing Company Formation (i.e., what you need to consider when creating your company). We are excited to welcome our volunteer speaker, Curt Bender.

Curt Bender graduated from Florida State University College of Law , where he focused on business law. Bender also earned the Leadership Certificate from Taylor Leadership Institute at the University of North Florida. After college, Bender began his legal career by working for the Florida Department of Business of Professional Regulation. As a business law attorney, Curt is actively involved in about $20 million worth of business litigation.

This week we are doing a deep dive on Funding - Due Diligence (i.e., understanding capital and where you can find it). We are excited to welcome our volunteer speaker, Milton Vescovacci.

Milton Vescovacci is an experienced shareholder with a demonstrated history of working in the law practice industry. His expertise is in Corporate Law, Management, Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A), Business Strategy, and Contract Negotiation. He is a strong entrepreneurship professional with a Doctor of Law - JD focused in Law from Rutgers Law School.

As part of our 6-month incubation program, this month our participants are focusing on Financial Modeling and Sustainability. This week we are doing a deep dive on Financial Projections and Cash Flows (i.e., How to manage your monthly expenses properly). We are excited to welcome the guest speaker, Yuh - Mei Hutt.

Yuh-Mei-Hutt is the president of Golden Lightning, a manufacturer of residential light fixtures that sells to lighting retailers all across North America. As of recently, Golden Lighting revamped the company’s product offerings and operations which have allowed the company to significantly grow its revenue and distribution. Golden Lighting has won the Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year and the Jim Moran Institue’s Entrepreneurial Excellence awards. Yuh-Mei is on the board of directors at Domi Station and believes in promoting and investing in startups to help the Tallahassee community thrive.

Gear Up Lab: Business Planning

As part of our 6-month incubation program, this month our participants are focusing on Financial Modeling and Sustainability. This week we are doing a deep dive on Business Planning (i.e., how to utilize a business plan for your company). We are excited to welcome guest speaker, Kyndra Light.

Kyndra Light is the co-founder, co-owner, and CEO of Precision Building & Renovating, LLC, a state-certified commercial and residential construction company; and Gulf Coast Additive Manufacturing & Design, LLC, a company that supports the application of 3D printing in the construction field. Kyndra holds a bachelor’s degree in Humanities and Women’s Studies, and master’s degree in Educational Leadership and Policy, both from Florida State University. In addition she has a graduate certificate in AdditiveManufacturing & Design from MIT. She has over 15 years of experience as an executive in the private sector, and 6 years in nonprofit administration. She is a published author, engaged scholar, and program designer who thrives in creating, implementing, and evaluating projects related to community development and empowerment.

Mentor Meeting Morning Coffee

Over the past few years, the Tallahassee Entrepreneurship Community has collaborated to bring the mentors from our programs together to better assist the Startups here in Tallahassee. With the help of our local mentore, we’ve been able to assist numerous businesses, and we’re so excited to share that achievement with you!

To keep the momentum going, we’ll be organizing additional volunteer mentoring services and are happy to announce we’re working with The Venture Mentoring Team. We would like to invite all mentors to our mentor update event on Wednesday, April 19th from 9am to 10:30am at Domi Station to showcase our mentoring initiatives for 2024. Come network with local experienced entrepreneurs and fellow mentors and learn how we can connect you with Tallahassee’s best and brightest entrepreneurs to help startups and small businesses reach their full potential!

With more than 20 years managing multi-million dollar enterprise technology projects, Eddie is an award-winning information technology expert, mentor, recognized speaker, and CEO at Ruvos (formerly named Uber Operations), a leading data, security, and cloud computing company. Eddie played a critical role in the development of the company's strategic growth from 5 individuals to over 75, and he continues this by working with partnerships and supplier relationships, ensuring flexibility and growth in response to an increasingly demanding marketplace.
